Massive, two-building mixed-use project from developer ZOM Living rises quickly in the West Loop. The 467,000-square-foot project, known as Union West, will include approximately 15,000 square-feet of common amenity space and 12,000 square-feet of ground-level retail. A total of 357 rentals will be available including studio, 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom apartments. Units range in size from between 501 and 1,377 square-feet.

Power Construction is behind the build-out of Union West, which was designed by bKL Architecture. Both buildings will rise to 15 floors and be connected by a three-floor, 255-stall parking podium. The project will be mostly clad in brick, metal panels, vision glass and spandrel glass.

The usual amenities were included in the design of Union West. The project will offer a pool deck with grilling stations, roof terrace and access to an on-site fitness club. Apartments will be accessible through keyless entry.

Union West is being developed on the block between Washington and Madison to the north / south and Sangamon and Morgan to the east / west. The project will be Green Globes-certified. Developers are on-schedule for a late, 2019 release.

Union West is rising close to several other mixed-use projects currently under-construction, including Milieu. Gateway West Loop, completed in 2015, is also just down the street from the development.
