Brinshore Development’s Clybourn 1200 replaces a former City Farm location at the intersection of Division and Clybourn. This modern building, designed by Pappageorge Haymes Partners, was built using green, sustainable construction methods and materials.

Clybourne 1200 offers 84 apartments including 26 affordable units, 26 subsidized units and 32 market-rate units throughout the building. Studio, 1- and 2-bed units as well as 2-bed units with a den are available at Clybourn 1200. Each residence features vinyl plank flooring, Energy-Star appliances and solid wood cabinets. Solar panels, radiant floor heating, energy-saving light bulbs and low-E windows help make Clybourn 1200 a green building much-welcomed in the rapidly transforming Cabrini Green neighborhood.

An apiary with multiple honeybee hives courtesy of Chicago Honey Co-op, residential and community garden plots make for a unique green roof experience atop the building. The new attached day-care center also has a green roof component atop its section of the development.

Clybourn 1200 has received much recognition and many awards after general contractor McShane Construction Company completed the $35.2 million build-out in 2017. Awards include the Jack Kemp Award for Excellence in Affordable Housing (Urban Land Institute, 2018) and the MFE Mixed-Income, Grand Award (Multifamily Executive Magazine, 2018).

Several apartment buildings have been constructed near the Division & Clybourn intersection within the past few years, including Terrace 459 at Parkside of Old Town across the street and Xavier down the block
