Residential tower hugs bank of the Chicago River’s North Branch on prominent Wolf Point site

Wolf Point West is the first of a three-tower development planned for the small Wolf Point peninsula in River North. The slender, 46-floor, bKL-designed residential tower was developed by Magellan Development Group and Hines. General contractors McHugh Construction and Clark Construction completed the 571,000-square-foot build-out in 2016.
Wolf Point West brings a total of 509 more luxury rentals to the neighborhood. Individual units within the building range in size from 493- 1,893 square-feet. Layouts include studio, 1-bed, 2-bed and 3-bedroom apartments all with floor-to-ceiling windows, GE Stainless Steel appliances, soft-close cabinets and some with private, inset balconies.
Residents of these River North apartments can unwind on the top-floor Sky Lounge, where they’ll find a fully-equipped bar and outdoor deck area. The top floor is rich with other amenities including a fitness center, sauna, steam room and private-access training rooms. The building also offers a Club Room with golf simulator and a Riverfront Lounge with designer details and furnishings.
A curtain wall of Low-E vision glass, opaque spandrel glass and metal panels surrounds Wolf Point West. Concrete was used as structural material for the construction of the building. Through their ongoing commitment to the overall reduction of natural resource use, bKL managed to obtain LEED certification for the tower.
Several awards were presented to developers and designers of Wolf Point West including CISCO Project of the Year: New Construction (2016) and NAIOP Chicago Award for Excellence: 2017 Multifamily Development of the Year.
