Kenect brings life to long-dormant site at Grand, Halsted and Milwaukee intersection

Two-building project, Kenect, replaces dreary gray buildings in Fulton River District area. The 4- and 14-floor residential development offers a combined total of 227 for-rent luxury apartments. Pappageorge Haymes Partners’ modern design allows 13,000 square-feet of ground-level retail opportunity across both buildings. A total of 122 parking spaces are located within the parking podium of the taller west building.
Akara Partners developed the 55,000-square-foot and 215,000-square-foot buildings at 505 and 504 N Green St, directly across from the CTA’s ‘Grand’ Blue Line station. With a community focus in mind, developers included an abundance of shared amenity space with community rooms, a co-working lounge, fitness center, yoga rooms and landscaped rooftop deck.
Kenect floor-plan options include studio, one-, two and three-bedroom apartments. Individual units in the buildings feature 9-foot ceilings and are outfitted with Grohe plumbing fixtures and stainless steel GE appliances. Several units have private, recessed balconies.
Completed in 2016, Kenect qualified as a finalist in the running for the NAIOP Chicago Award for Excellence (2017).
