Berkelhamer Architects-designed tower, Eight O Five offers boutique apartments

Glassy Eight O Five, at the corner of Chicago and LaSalle, was designed to offer smaller, boutique residential units. In total, Smithfield Development’s 33-floor modern high-rise has 292 dwelling units across a combination of studio, one- and two-bedroom floor plans. Berkelhamer Architects designed Eight O Five, which was completed in 2015.

An abundance of amenities await Eight O Five residents. Individual units in the building were designed with exposed concrete columns, open floor plans, floor-to-ceiling windows, extra-large closets, hardwood flooring and modern lighting. Energy-Star Whirlpool appliances, Grohe faucets, granite countertops and Euro-style cabinetry adorn each unit’s chef-inspired, contemporary kitchen. Many of Eight O Five’s apartments feature either balconies or terraces and some have views of Lake Michigan.

Residents can engage in many activities within the building including grabbing a cup of coffee in Club 805 Café, reading a book in the community library and working-out in the fitness / cardio center. A rooftop pool, rooftop deck and fourth-floor outdoor kitchen equipped with bbq stations are also available to tenants. Hosting pet-friendly apartments, Eight O Five offers a dog-run and ‘Bark Park’ area on the fourth-floor deck, as well.

In 2016, Smithfield sold their high-rise at 805 N LaSalle to Berkshire Group.

Eight O Five is located just to the west of Flats No. 800 in the landmark Bush Temple of Music building.
