New, 18-floor apartment tower rises in East Lakeview, steps from Chicago’s Belmont Harbor

Chicago’s East Lakeview neighborhood will soon be home to a new, 18-floor, 179-foot residential building. New construction permits for 450 W Belmont St. were issued in June and contractors are quickly racing to build the Antunovich Associates-designed structure.
Plans for 450 W Belmont had undergone changes throughout the project’s development. What was first pitched as a 17-floor residential tower was later increased to 18 floors. The original unit count for 450 W Belmont was 95 but was later reduced to 80. The number of available parking spaces decreased from 52 to 48, as well.
From developer CA Ventures, 450 W Belmont replaces a pair of brick three-flats. The building’s new residences will feature floor-to-ceiling windows allowing for an abundance of natural light. Some of these East Lakeview apartments will also have their own private balcony. Each tenant will have easy access to bike storage in the building’s dedicated 80-space bike storage area.
